Renewal of Marriott UK contract 2007
Robert Laycock at Marriott Forest of Arden Golf Club.
Robert Laycock has advised at all Marriott UK golf venues since 2001, producing regular and unique summaries of objective and measurable improvements to golf course quality.
In 2004, David MacLaren, director of golf operations for Marriott UK, commented that Robert Laycock’s input was proving of tremendous benefit to the company’s individual course managers. “We have seen a sustained rise in the year-round standard of all 16 Marriott golf courses over the past three years,” he said. “Much of the improvement is down to Robert Laycock who has provided us with first-class technical and practical support.
“The overall result has been a continuing increase in the number of rounds played at our Hotel and Country Club courses by visitors from Britain and around the world. This has helped further strengthen Marriott UK’s position as the leading provider of quality golf and associated hotel and leisure facilities within the United Kingdom.”
Kenny MacKay, then Senior Course Manager, Marriott UK, said: "We regard Robert both as a partner and a great help to the individual course managers. His regular targeted assessments of course quality enable us to keep a close eye on progress year on year.”
